GASTON UNPLUGGED 2025

The Reggie Sullivan Band
January 11th
Since forming in early 2012, The Reggie Sullivan Band has become one of the hottest bands in South Carolina. Their reputation as a wildly entertaining live act grew after the release of their CD Together in June of 2012. They work hard on building their fan base by playing shows throughout the Southeast and always offer top-notch musicianship and fresh twists on their arrangements.
The band is building its reputation on a strong work ethic and has been a top draw at local festivals such as Viva La Vista and been featured on radio stations such as WXRY and 92.1 The Palm. With Reggie Sullivan on bass and vocals, Zach Bingham on guitar, Evans Mcgill on guitar, and Geoff Shackley on drums the band is a winning combination.

The Mike Frost Trio
February 1st
If bass is the backbone of jazz, Mike Frost is the heart and soul. As leader of the Mike Frost Band, this virtuoso of the vibe is equally at home as the foundation of a song as he is the centerpiece, emerging from the background to captivate audiences with solo performances otherwise reserved for instruments of higher pitch. And while he an approach treble with his demonstrations of digital dexterity, Frost is clearly all about that bass.
A native of Queens, New York, Frost studied under jazz legends Pat Martino and Jaco Pastorius. More than a band leader and bass player, he is a composer, studio musician, educator, recording engineer and designer, as well as owner and sound engineer of Spirit Studio in Boiling Springs, South Carolina. He is an authentic crossover musician with a deep melodic pocket and soulful, creative solo approach, transitioning seamlessly from jazz standards to blues to funk to rock-n-roll, incorporating a unique and imaginative interpretation to his compositions.
The Mike Frost Band has become a jazz staple in the Carolinas and beyond, regularly appearing on stage in California and in Frost’s native New York. He has recorded and performed with an extensive collection of noteworthy musicians including Donald Vega, Wycliffe Gordon, Delfeayo Marsalis, Cleave Guyton Jr, Greg Osby, Jorma Kaukonen, Jesse Colin Young. Mike has currently joined Blues legend Mac Arnold & Plate Full Of Blues. Frost is highly noted for the unique quality of sound he produces on his custom Clifford Roi fretless and fretted basses.

Big Daddy Love
March 1st
Big Daddy Love (BDL) is no gentle string quartet and identifying a single genre is nearly impossible. All four members are comfortable playing almost any type of American music. Our sound has been described as “a blend of rock, bluegrass, southern soul, and psychedelic jams” that we have long referred to as “Appalachian Rock.”
The quartet has played well over a thousand shows across the country and has released four CDs—most recently Live at Ziggy’s and This Time Around. Along the way, we’ve played venues of all sizes from listening-room coffee houses to the 20,000 seat PNC Arena in Raleigh, NC. Big Daddy Love’s festival resume ranges from local favorites like The Big What to larger regional festivals such as Bristol Rhythm & Roots and the premier southeastern festival, FloydFest.
